Roof Rack

I'm picking up a basketcase roof rack from Yakima. I know it's not the greatest but it will do for what I need. No need in spending a bunch of $$ when it won't be used that often.
Anyhow, the man reason why I got was to hold a gas and water can. I plan on storing the cans on there sides and was wondering what would be the best way to strap them down? So any help you all could give me would be great.

Since the Basketcase is a light duty type of rack, I'd recommend some of the military style web straps like the ones here, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260246005473 or something like this with some bungies, http://www.thebednet.com/compactnet.htm.
