Just reserved a Vorsheer XOC. Looking to get a rooftop tent for it during the black friday sales. I was initially thinking of getting the 23Zero Walkabout 87, but I'm not sure if it is too big for the trailer. Does anybody have experience with mounting this tent on a trailer? I'm worried that it will overhang the front of the trailer too much like a duckbill, look dumb, and catch a bunch of wind while rolling down the highway.
Vorsheer told me that their roof rack is 60x71. The Walkabout 87 is 87"x48" when closed, per 23Zero website. That leaves 16" of extra length. You might be able to cheat the tent towards the rear of the trailer 10 or 12", before it hits the hatch door that opens to the kitchen. That would give you an estimated 4 to 6 inches of "duckbill".
Thoughts, other than I'm insane? 😁
I also appreciate any input on what a good tent is. Don't have a lot of time to research things before the sales end and I'm just starting to look at them.
