Hey folks.
I drive a 13 Tacoma, Double Cab, Limited Ed. In the past year, I put in a 3 in lift, got new tires, rims, running boards and a bull bar. It's finally starting to look like my own little rig, rather than the truck I pulled out of the lot with. Anyway, next summer I'm planning a 1.5 - 2 month road trip West in my truck.
I decided I'd take this post-grad trip during my first year in college. Then, I think, it was more of a dream. But, now, it's less than a year away and I'm really excited to prep for it. That being said, I'm hunting for a good rooftop tent.
But, there is a caveat. I also will be traveling with my 16' sea kayak. I'm hoping to do some paddling trips while I'm out there. So, I've been sitting in this predicament of roof-space for a couple months now. I have seen a lot of RTT pics, and sometimes I almost feel like they're far enough to one side that my narrow kayak would be ok up there. I don't know. I am starting to come to terms with the notion that my heart may have to let go of the RTT and I'll have to slum it on the ground (I kid). Before I really accept that and move on, though, I was hoping y'all may have some insight/advice or recommendations for a system that might work.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to chatting about it.
