Ross Monster Baja truck camper

I can't find any user groups for Ross Monster truck campers. They've been out a few years and I'd think there would be more info online about issues, upgrades etc. I do find utube videos which seem more like advertisements. Any real owners out there willing to share information? They are expensive and I'd like to know about possible warranty issues, preformance, overall satisfaction, complaints, and resale values before I consider spending that kind of money. I've done the van thing - didn't like preformance up mountain passes or high cross winds, currently have four wheel hawk on F250 superduty. Love the rig but it is a bit cramped and lacking in space for more lithium. (Currently 2 battle born with 50 amp 12 v dc to dc.). Use an Ecoflow Delta 2 max for starlink mini. I like the lithium capacity in the Baja and its other luxuries.

There is a Rossmonster owners Facebook group. Perhaps you can’t find it because you are searching with two separate words? We were seriously considering the Baja last year and even visited the factory. The finishes are beautiful and we loved the pop up hard sided roof. That said, there were shortcomings that led us to another solution: 1. not enough payload- the Baja is built on an F350 and while I don’t recall the numbers, there wasn’t a lot of payload capacity after loading water etc. 2. not enough storage. The interior storage is nice but outside, there‘s not enough for our requirements, even after adding 2 accessory boxes. We travel for months at a time so external storage for things like fishing gear, tools, etc. is important. 3. price- we can well afford it but in the end, it’s a depreciating asset and harder to sell because you can’t separate the truck and camper. Yes, we could have gone with the Baja Plus but in the end, we could not justify the price. After months of evaluating Rossmonster, Storyteller Hilt, Supertramp, OEV, and Truck House (there were others but those were the finalists), we decided to assemble our own solution: a Ram 5500 chassis cab, custom flatbed with storage boxes, and a Nucamp Cirrus 920 truck camper. With this configuration, we can tow a large boat, have tons of storage, and a beautiful truck camper with dry bath for half the price. One additional concern we had was vendor financial viability. We were recently burned when our off-road trailer brand ran into financial difficulties and the company that purchased them decided to upgrade the suspension and discontinued all replacement parts for the original configuration. We snapped an axle while traveling last fall and ended up having to flatbed the trailer 1000 miles home. We waited almost 4 months for the new suspension to be available and had to spend almost $3000 to replace the entire suspension plus new wheels (they also went to a new bolt pattern). It was a nightmare and has caused us to be very cautious about selecting our next vendor. In the end, everyone has their own criteria and needs— ours were very specific and although it’s taken us over a year, we feel comfortable it’s the right decision. Hope that helps.
