Rough Out Trailers

Anyone have experience with this off road pop-up trailer? Looks pretty sweet and not priced to bad. The LE-400 sleeps 4 for $8,500, plus options. The webpage is pretty sad, but the products looks decent.

It looks pretty cool and you could get it on some pretty rough trails. Alot rougher then I can get mine JJ on due to the short length. As all of them they are over priced for what you get. That's what I need to put on top of my JJ, then I would be ready for anything.:wings:

If you can, find a dealer that has some in stock and go take a look. Because these are so new to the market I would want to make my own decision about whether or not it would fit my intended uses.

I saw some of these at Smith RV in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To be fair there are things that I liked and some that I liked not so much.

It would be interesting to see how they would hold up after a real expedition with little to no pavement. I have my opinions but don't want to say one way or the other right now because it is a new product, I haven't heard or read of any real extensive product reviews, and I have no way to prove or disprove my opinions or biases.

I wonder if any RV Dealerships would allow you to rent one for a weekend to figure out if it would work for you or not?

Do both models have torsion axles? I couldn't tell from their website.

I saw these in person at an Outdoor Expo in denver and was not impressed with the overall build quailty compared to a major mfg's products. I didn't get the impression that the openings would seal as well as other I'd seen.

That being said, I ended up going with a Fleetwood Yuma for just about the same price. I did a spring over on it and I have plans for lifting it a couple more inches.

So, with a little work mines just as capable, better build quality (IMHO) and way more spacious.


And yes, it's mild, but my Yuma goes places

Future plans = 2 more inches of lift + larger tires + longer tounge jack
