Round LED Replacement Light Suggestions

I think I am going to ditch the PIAA 510 Ion Crystal Fogs that are currently installed in the Buckstop Bumper, and try to find some nice bright round LEDs


It should be a simple plug and play, once I replace the quick disconnect plugs that I have right now, that are tied into the factory fog light wiring harness

Here is what I am running now:

I believe my 510 Ions are 4" around......so I am just hoping it find some nice aftermarket LED round 4" lights

Also......my current PIAA 510s have a 55w bulb (85-watt output equivalent)......decent at time, but I would like a tad more output and visibility


What LED wattage would be bright than these? I want BRIGHT!

JW Speaker makes some 90mm LED high and lowbeam lights; I think you could make them fit.
Or go with good old Hella; they have a number of sizes in a variety of patterns and bulbs ---- better light than the LED but you still have to deal with bulbs. Hella also makes very excellent HID and LED options that would fit but they're pricey.
Trucklite has a multitude of options too and they're almost as good as JW Speaker and usually less expensive.
There are the Rigid products and they throw a bunch of light; they're pattern isn't compliant with what a driving or fog light should be though and I'd only recommend them for offroad.

I don't think Rigid makes a round 4" housing.......plus they are stupid pricey

I found some 4" round, 42W LED lights on Ebay for $90

They have 4,200 lumens!

Those are nice and all.......but with only 1400 lumen of light and a pattern that covers 300'x75', there are MUCH better options out there for the price

Just remember, all these led lights exaggerate their lumens ratings by a great deal. Op, what are you looking to accomplish? A better fog light, or long distance driving light?

Really? Common knowledge in lighting circles. 20,000 lumens from a 50" light bar, however it cannot come close to the output of my hella hids rated at about 4000 fish.

I'd have to agree with Kojack. I've seen some of the higher rated lights and they just don't have the beam pattern to make it work. When you wired up your PIAA's did you power them off the stock fog light circuit? If you why don't you try using the stock circuit to actuate a relay and run power for the PIAA's direct off the battery. I did this with one of my motorcycles and the output was quite amazing. Enough so that the 9 year old OE bulb was more than enough for general driving.
