RRC: LWB vs SWB

I'd like to hear if anyone has done anything clever with all that extra foot space in the rear of an LWB. It really is cavernous back there, and when I'm not toting the kids around town or overland I'd like to use it somehow.

One thought I've had is to put a false floor at the height of the rear deck, yielding about 6" of storage space underneath. My kids are small, so they would not miss the floor space, but it might be a nice place to store some heavy items such as tools, spares, hi-lift etc in a safe manner.

Anyone done something like that?

I mounted a hi-lift right behind the front seats. The kids still had room for their feet. I made my own brackets and bolted them to the rear bolts that hold the front seats to the floor.
