Thanks Phil! Haha I was just looking at your build thread.

Your truck looks fantastic! Love that its Radiant Red too:elkgrin: Great choice on getting CBI. A pair of sliders and two swing out bumpers later, they have made a customer for life out of me.

Thank-you for your comments! It's turning-out even better than I had originally pictured it. Now it's time to work on the electrical, recovery gear, and a few more basic necessities. In a few weeks I'll be back on the trails. The truck is nowhere near expeditionary yet, however, I believe it certainly has the potential. :)

Awesome truck man, makes me want a first gen badly!

I don't like Radiant Red on a stock truck, but the contrast with the black steelies, skinny muds and armor looks absolutely awesome!

Very well thought out and functional rig.

Yeah, trucks like yours are pretty rare in Oklahoma. I'm usually stuck behind some lifted Z71 or F-150 with "lo-pro" tires, blingin' chrome and a huge drop hitch with "Truck Nutz" hanging off it.

Ya. It's embarrassing.

Wow, that is clean

I remember when my truck was that clean (same color too, 04' DC TRD), it came home from the dealer and started getting built within a few weeks. Now its got the typical dings, dents and rock-rash, yours will come in time :D

thank-you! I can't wait!! Looks like everywhere you've been I'd love to go. Do you have a build somewhere? I couldn't find it!

Beautiful truck. Very tasteful upgrades. I have subscribed - will be using some of your ideas on my own truck.

Not really, I did the majority of the build in just a couple of days so I didn't spend much time documenting or planning it. I had a 96' XCab that I was basically trying to recreate in a 4 door variety, that made my decision making process pretty straightforward.

Here is where it sits now (well not literally)
Fall_Trip_2009 007 (Medium).jpg

04' DC, SC, dual bats w/Nat. Luna control system, Helton hot shower system, OME modified suspension F&R, Budbuilt skids, Safari Snorkel, Yausu ham & Cobra CB, ARB front bar w/XD9000 & modded All-Pro rear bumper. ARB Simpson III tent on a Front Runner rack system. Lined rockers and underside of bed.

I understand. I see a lot of similarities with our trucks. ;) I like the dual bat setup. And lined underside? Nice!

When you get into the Fire Department, your trucks will match. When I bought my Radiant Red 03 DC, people actually thought I bought it to match the fire engines at work.:Wow1:

Very nice build. I just had mine out at Big Bend Ranch. You need to make the drive out there and spend a few days. I have a list of mods that I want to do now, but my truck is not nearly as built as yours.

One question: with the 33's, did you relocate your rear axle forward? That was my biggest problem on my trip. I had planned to do it before the trip, but I ran out of time, so I rubbed quite a bit.

once again. Nice!

thanks! hahaha, I know! I haven't been out in awhile. Once I get the recovery gear in a few weeks (and now my front diff actuator replaced :() I'll be back on the trails again!!

Tough break on the front end. What happened?

And what part of OK are you in? I do a lot of wheeling in both the Ozarks and Ouachitas, so if you want to get out and put that b@d@s$ build to use exploring this part of the country, give me a shout! (I'm planning a group run in late-March, fyi.)

Wow, that IS a very clean truck. I love the transformation from stock to 6" to current!

Ya. I've always thought a Toyota Tacoma in Radiant Red looked like it belonged in the fire department. It's always been my favorite. :)

I've heard of Beg Bend. I'd love to go sometime.

Relocate the rear axle? Hmmm. I haven't heard of that before. No rubbing issues in the rear for me (at least yet). I'll have to look more into it.

Thanks!

You wouldn't believe how many times I have been asked if I work in search and rescue or at a fire department due to my trucks color.
