RTT and Roof Rack Pictures Wanted

I have a 100 series and looking at possibly getting a RTT. However, I want to still be able to use some space on the roof rack to carry things, etc. So, anyone have some pictures of their setup? I would love to see some pics of the tent on the roof rack with how much space is left to carry things; if any at all. Thanks much!

I have an Autohome RTT, so it pretty much takes up all the space. I do have room for a Foxwing awning, however.

That is one great picture...

The dirty Land Cruiser, the road sign, the background. That is poster material right there. I would put that on my wall.

DIY flat roof rack with RRT. It was built to take gas/pelican cases on top, but just haven't installed the baskets since I carry everything inside. Good luck.

The BajaRack Utility rack is what replaced the BajaRack model MG on my FJ Cruiser.
Same rack, but the valence is now on the bottom.

For the money you can not go wrong with the Utility rack from BajaRack.
It gives you a nice flat surface for mounting a tent to it.

What rear tire carrier are you using. I have been looking for one for the FJ60 with a ladder.

It was a custom build by Solid Rock Off Road (SROR) out of Castle Rock, CO. unfortunately he's out of business now. If you check on IH8MUD under the FJ60 section I believe there's other venders that are making his design.

Good luck!

What did you build your rack with? as in material specs? Good looking truck. And I know those two Hooligans with you in that third photo. :)

The tubing was 1 1/4 steel tubing that I picked up at a local scrap yard. It's maybe a 1/16 in. thick. I had the corners bent by a friend and welded them (4) into the side/end pieces. The clamps I purchased off a vender on IH8MUD.

Good luck!

Old Mombasa 1st Gen RTT. Opens up to roughly the size of a king size bed, but no room for anything else up on the roof... To be honest, I'm not sure if I'd want anything else up there..

mph - Did you end up getting the Baja/ARB Simpson set up? I'm looking for the exact same, and wondered how it's been working out. Most likely be buying from cruiser outfitters, since they're local.

Hello there...Not yet... I am really still undecided. We have a high clearance trailer that we use quite a bit so not sure if I will get a lot of use out of a RTT. Might just keep using our ground tent for now. When not using the trailer...The only downside I see with the setup is that bajarack doesn't have a lot of accessories to use with it. bike, kayak, etc.
