rtt footprints

Im having a new roof rack built for the Outback. 6ft long and just shy of 4ft wide, flat platform, most likely 6-8 crossbars, rail on front that extends back 24" for mounting boxes and stuff.


My question is. Is there a general range that RTT require to mount? I checked ARB and Tepui and they seem to be about the same. I would like to be able to throw my tire on the front (29") and a rtt on the rear of the rack. Is that feasible?

It depends on what tent you plan on getting. The larger the tent, the larger the foot print needed. With a spare taking up 2 1/2 ft you will need the smallest tent made. I know my CVT Mt Shasta takes up every bit of my 5ft roof rack. You can have a little overhang but not much.

Honestly don't think both will fit.
