RTT's in Canada?

I know it's an old thread, but just thought I'd throw another review of the Titan RTT. I picked up one at the begining of the summer and used it a dozen times this season. Mine is the dark green and it actually blocks out the heat/light of the sun in the summer and you're not woke up as soon as the sun is on you. It held up well in a couple of rainy/windy nights and held the heat in on cold nights. Very impressed with the comfort and quality and as said before Duncan and Jeannie of Titan Off-Road are great people to deal with. So much so I bought a new winch from them the same day.

Years ago when I purchased my Eezi-Awn, I picked it up in Montana. I was in the USA for over 7 days and even though I was over the allotted amount (and declared the full value of the tent and other items) I was not charged any duty at all.

My suggestion is to ship it to www.montanashipping.com in Eureka, spend a week exploring the Pacific Northwest and then come home. You'll have a great trip and you'll likely pay nothing extra.

Pete

Thanks for the info Pete, might just try that!

Hey Folks,

A couple more resources:

North Shore Off Road (Vancouver) sells Tapui tents (in stock, ready to go).

Trekken Off Road in Victoria sells Cascadia Vehicle Tents (Also in stock as far as I know).

Additionally, the amount you are allowed to spend in the US and bring back has just increased a great deal, so you may be able to bring them in duty-free if you get the right deal on one from the USA.

Did you checkout Ironman 4x4 RTT's? I REALLY like mine a lot. $1300 before shipping and it includes the annex (not shown) too.

Got mine from roof-top.com. We have a vendor on my SX4 forum who I purchased it through. Very reasonable and fast shipping to Ontario for such a huge product, which I'm sure to BC will be even cheaper since they're located in Oregon. I think mine was JUST over $1k including shipping to Canada, but not including taxes/duties. I've used it a lot, it's a really great tent. It's been through days of rain, high winds, and it's taken it all with no drama at all.

That is a sweet setup! I love the SX4 with the tires, driving lights, and trailer with RTT. Truly awesome.

This thread is old old old, but I'll indirectly second Duncan @ www.titanwinches.com. I say indirectly because I have a Hannibal tent and have never seen one of his tents. However, all my experiences with Duncan and his products have been positive, so if anyone is looking for a tent, I'd recommend at least looking at his product based on my other experiences with him.
