Warranty ?

Have you taken it to a dealer and asked about a warranty? You might go to Palmer Dodge and speak with Dave Keller. He is the Service Manager. Its worth a shot...

Is that you Dave?

I have done so much to the Jeep I suspect it not worth the hassle. Then there's the fact the are going to put the same part in. Assuming it is really bent, I don't mind upgrading. I understood when I started wheeling it things would break. I was just surprised by this one (seemed a little soon).

I may swing by there, I guess I could always sell the new one.

Southern Offroad informed me of the situation. The Jeep was there for sleeves and gussets as well as new gears. I mentioned there was some front-end shake and thought the tires might need to be rebalanced.

They decided to throw it on the alignment rack before they did anything (citing it sounded like the axles might be tweaked). The measurements indicated that one side was out .1 degrees and the other .9.

I pressed them on whether it was the axles vs the C's vs the tab but they said it was like the axles. They offered to try sleeving the axles first but I assumed even if they could something still might be wrong.

Is there any easy way to verify the issue?

And no Bill, this is not the place the installed the transmission cooler with duct tape.

Tell them to go pound sand. They are feeding you a complete line. Those specs are not that bad. The axles are coming from the factory with those specs. Your balljoints are most likely shot. Check out in order of quality moog<poly performance<dynatrac.

My time is typically worth more to me with my family than under my Jeep. Sorry you don't understand.

It took me all of about 3 hours to upgrade my transmission cooler, add the power steering cooler, and sandwich them together with a 10 inch puller fan. The added bonus is that I actually know how to fix it if it ever presents a problem, just like everything else I have upgraded on my Jeep....Took a 4 day fishing trip with my wife using the money I saved.

In an attempt to get this thread back on topic....

I think I am going to replace the axle (rather pay someone to do it) and then take the original to get throughly checked out. If it turns out that its in spec, I sure someone will want it. This way I have piece of mind and an awesome axle. :sombrero:

In case it isn't apparent, I have neither the time, tools and in many cases skills to perform diagnostic let alone installs. I try to learn where ever possible and hope one day to be able to rebuild all that I break.

In the meantime, I use this forum, friends and professionals to makeup for what I have not learn. In return I hope that I can pass on what I have learned to the next person.

Whew.... glad I get to head off road tomorrow with my daughter. If the axle isn't bent I'm thinking it will be my tomorrow.

Let us know when you get the axle... I am sure you can find a few hands to help put it in . I think I to suffer from either a bent axle or outer C's. A few of the GATR members who saw it agreed something doesn't look right while we were at Harlan.
