I'm looking for satellite images of the NWT in Canada. GoogleEarth is pretty good for some places but the resolution is pretty bad in others. Any help is appreciated.
I think your best bet is looking at the other map sites, like virtual earth from microsoft, found at maps.live.com as they might get some imagery from different sources. Google pretty much has all the high res stuff from digital globe, and I think microsoft gets theirs from space imaging. Even try mapquest, ask.com, among others. But the companies that operate the high resolution satellites go where the money is, which is why most metropolitan areas are covered, as they needed it and google buys it as it is done. I don't think Google orders new imagery to be taken, that is likely up to the local areas needing it and ordering it. Canadian topo's among other data is here http://maps.nrcan.gc.ca/index_e.php
