Satellite radio?

Question for the audio guys:
I want/need to put in a Aux. port in my Discovery 1. It has the stock radio that I want to keep because of the weather band part. I have heard of putting a aux adapter through the C.D wire that under the drivers seat. That is fine with me, however I don't have the c.d changer. I do have the wires though. :D If you have done this, what adapter have you used? The tape player has horrible sound quality at best. What do you recommend for different speakers without running new wires? I do plan on taking the inside of the truck apart this spring to put new carpet and some other things in, so if need be I can run wires. Just some extra background information for you guys. Thanks.
P.S. starting to get a big crackle in the back pillar speaker, I think its almost completely dead.

I replaced all of the speakers when I had my D1, the driver speaker went bad so I replaced them all. I wouldn't say it's a common problem but the sound system will start to show its age in vehicles this old. I wired a satellite radio receiver into my cd player and got it to work that way. I had the CD player though So I don't know if it will be different for you because you lack the unit.

My advice is not to get to attached to the stock unit, hand held weather band radios are not to expensive and an aftermarket head unit with gps etc might be better in the long run.
