Savana GMC 2500 2005 rear shock fit

Wich Suburban/ Silverado model/year rear shock could fit on my GMC 2500 2005 RWD?

I want to instal the 5100 Bilstein on my truck.

I had a fifth Leaf and it give one inch more. I wish to put the 5100 Bilstein and adjust the shock to the good lengh.
Or can i put something that will keep the stock lengh, if So there will be no problem cause de 4600 HD fit on a 2500 Savana.

I had a similar problem looking for offset control arm bushings & bolts... please follow along.

If you take a look on the RockAuto catalog, you will see that your van requires BILSTEIN 24221948 B6 shocks (info here).

Usually clicking on the model number gives you options but it keeps it to the Express and Savana line. But, if you check the MONROE 34763 Gas-Magnum line, it gives the following applications which include the GMC K2500 Suburban 1992-1999:



If you then go check the shock availability for the GMC K2500 Suburban 1992-1999, you find the following Bilstein options:


Looking at the info for both of them, they seem to have the same upper and lower mounting type. You just have to decide which you prefer.

IMO, with an RV like you have (and mine), I doubt you'll be jumping over dunes so there's a much higher chance you'll be bottoming out than a complete sag. I would suggest giving the 24024198 a try. Of course, the best thing is, if possible, to order from your local parts guy the stock 24221948 and the 24024198 and compare them and return the one that won't fit.

I don't think 1 inch will make too much of a difference. Just imagine a normal truck loaded with a reasonnable amount of construction material or pulling a heavy trailer. It will most likely sag 1 inch in the back and still perform as it's supposed to. So I wouldn't overthink it. Especially if you need to change them down the road in a foreign country, you probably won't be able to find what you originally installed. 😄

One last try, did you ever see shock extension 1 inch for B6?

I guess this would work or you could make it yourself: 1.5" extension

It's 1.5" but I don't really see how you could make it shorter.
