Saw my old Jeep yesterday

Related to the thread by The Swiss (do Jeeps have feelings?), I was on my way home yesterday in the PW, waiting for a Jeep to pass at a stop sign so I could make a right turn.
As it got closer there was a tremendous sense of familiarity to the vehicle --- then I recognized it. I felt like a dog when its people get home after work. :)
I pulled out and chased it for about 10 minutes.
The wheels were polished, the brown on the tires scrubbed away, the pinstripes were even buffed out. She looked great.

But she didn't remember me. When I got to the intersection of Birmingham Hwy and Birmingham Rd, I turned left and she went straight.
I bet the new owner was glad that the PW with the grinning-idiot driver was off his tail...

I've had lots of vehicles over the years. This is only the second time I've run into a former one. And the first time I felt anything.

It was good to see you, old girl.

I always wonder what and where some of my old jeeps ended up. I had a near cherry 85 Scrambler that I stripped down for a rebuild when I was younger. Ran out of $$ and ended up selling it as a non rolling frame and super clean body. A pair of guys drove down from somewhere to Georgia and hauled it away on a trailer...Miss that one a lot!

Love the old Jeeps. No clue what happened to my 2door I traded in. My 4 door Rubicon was actually bought by a friend of a friend. He even called me to get the real info on the Jeep before he bought it. Now it never goes off pavement....

I sold my 2001 60th Anniversary TJ to a guy in Wyoming. Spotted it running down I25 in Colorado a few years later. I had a lot of great memories in the 6 years I owned that jeep.

I use to have a 1990 Nissan 240sx that was in pristine condition and there was this one ************ who always kept offering me various amount of money. He annoyed the heck out of me, how many times do you have to tell someone "its not for sale"? So a year or so went by and he had quit hassling me about it and it came time for me to upgrade vehicles (to my first jeep I might add) and my 240 wound up at a dealership. And guess who bought it. This is a small Nebraska town we're talking about so I saw him driving it quite often, that was so painful seeing that.

I see my 05 Rubicon in town fairly regularly. I also think it seldom if ever goes off road. Kinda makes me sad:(
