Say hello to my little friends...

You actually got a good deal. I was going to go with a local shop that was having big sale for $160 per tire, but the tax return hadn't arrived.
THATS the first time the tax man helped me out. I'm going to order these and I'll let you know whether I get tires or a box full of poooooh!!!!:violent-smiley-031:

Okay NEVERMIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HATE THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They accidentilly left the FREE SHIPPING text on the website, but when you go to check out its 15$ per tire. Its a little cheaper than what you paid, but I still feel screwed!! They wont honor what their webpage says either!!

Okay, so its still a good deal so I ordered anyway... I went ahead and sent them an email with this though:

"Since it says there are no shipping charges I'm assuming that there won't be any. I don't know why it says $60 in the check out, but it must be a mistake. I took the below quote from your page. Please honor your policy.

Thank you.

"When you buy custom wheels and tires, awareness is key. Many sites and competitors often incorporate hidden or unexpected charges for mounting, balancing, and delivery. A set of car rims and tires shipped to your door at over 100lbs a piece can get quite expensive. However, Discounted Wheel Warehouse combines custom wheels, discount tires, mounting and balancing charges for you - all without delivery fees. We make it easy; one price is all you pay!" "

I also copied the email to www.consumerist.com one of my favorite sites.

Hi,

New here to the forum and I have been doing a lot of reading on tires. I am interested in the Cooper S/T's also, for my '06 Tacoma. I will be following your reports on how the tires do for you. They look nice on your Tundra. Another question I had was how are the Deaver 3-leaf AAl's working for you? I am considering them for my Tacoma.

The tires are great! I was out Sunday with friends in GWNF and they rolled through all the mud, guck and rocks without breathing hard.

The Deavers are very good. They were used when I got them, but they do the job. I only got about 3/4" lift from them not the advertised 1.5" but I'm not complaining. They seem to ride better over rough stuff, and it seems to flex better (could be me but that's my observation). Supposedly you lose some load capacity from the overload spring setup, but I've had 1200 pounds in the bed and it was fine, granted I've had 2300 in the bed stock but it was on the bumpstops then!

I suppose I should do an "official" off road report since I was out in GW.

Cooper Discoverer S/Ts:
Gravel road: Excellent grip, only throttle induced sliding. Anything sane and the tires just went where they were steered, and tracked straight. One thing I noticed was no rock ping, they did not pick up small stones and fling them like the AT's always did.

Dirt track: Excellent grip, same general comment as gravel.

Muddy track: Very good grip. I would rate them better than the BFG AT in the mud. They clean very readily, with excellent lateral stabilty. Along Dry River there were a couple of off-camber sections that I thought I'd slide into a tree and ding my beautiful truck, but these were very stable with little slip.

Rocks, wet and dry: Dry was excellent, they confrom well and climb them with lots of grip. Granted, I'm no rock-crawler and I'm very cautious on them as I have yet to spring for sliders, but anything that would fit under the rockers could be climbed with ease. Wet rocks were quite good, a little slip but nothing dramatic. As good as my previous AT's for this.

Last tank: 17.2 mpg mixed city/highway

I looked into them but ultimately it came down to it I wanted to try the tall, skinny theories out for myself. The STC did not come in 255/85 so I went with the regular ones.

Thanks for the update. I think I have narrowed down my tire choices to two. The S/T, like you are running, and the Nitto Terra Grappler. I have used BFG A/T's in the past. Like you, I have been looking for an alternative, something different.
