Scan tool gauge

saw this on TTORA, anyone using one? looks like a way to be able to monitor vehicle's functions. for instance, I want to add the driver's pillar gauge pod but I want to be able to monitor oil pressure, trans temps, and volts. could monitor volts with the scan tool gauge and do the trans temp and oil pressure with the pillar gauges.
the scan tool gauge is usable with any vehicle that is OBDll compliant (most vehicles after 96). so you could use it in any vehicle to check codes. also it would be super easy to hook up, just plug n play into the OBDll port.

How super gadget cool is that! I must get one of those :)

being able to read the codes would be a great tool IMO.

Look at all the stuff it does:

SCAN TOOL DIGITAL GAUGES TRIP COMPUTER
Troubleshoot your own car and turn off the
"Check Engine", "Service Engine Soon", or other
warning lamp and clear the trouble warnings.

Reads Trouble Codes
Reads conditions that set the Trouble Code
Clears Trouble Codes
Turns off "Check Engine" light
Make and store up to 10 rewritable special codes
to send to the vehicle computer

Shows 4 gauges at a time from the possible following:

Fuel Economy
Fuel Rate
Battery Voltage
Coolant Temperature
Intake Air Temperature
Engine Speed (RPM)
Vehicle speed (MPH)
Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles)
Engine Load
Throttle Position
Ignition Timing
Open/Closed Loop

Automatically tracks three sets of trip data:

Current (short) Trip
Days (total) Trips
Previous Days Trips
Maximum Speed
Average Speed
Maximum Coolant Temperature
Maximum RPM
Driving Time
Driving Distance
Fuel Used
Trip Fuel Economy

Looks like it has some great features, but it sure is ugly!

Too bad I don't need this, or I'd order one!

I agree on the ugly comment and also, how difficult/easy would it be to read while driving down the road.......might have to snag one anyway, says 30 days money back unconditional guarantee on their site

Yeah, but I can think of a bunch of other mods that need to come before I pump $100 into a toy. Ok, it's not a toy, but a cool tool.

I have this scan tool:

http://www.iequus.com/item.asp?cid=7&pid=3110

I picked it up for $150 on sale. It reads the newest CAN protocals also for the newest cars. I have used it several times and it has already paid for itself in savings.

I also have the FSM for my vehicle. Between the two, I can figure out any problem and decide if I should fix it myself or take it to my mechanic.

Anyways... This seems like a decent product for only $110. And it's designed to stay plugged in and provide real time information which is cool.

I think all you guys who said it was ugly are wrong..... It's not ugly, it is FUGLY!!!!!....but, that aside, it is pretty cool, and I can see it being a useful tool. It would just come way down on the mod priority list. Probably the very last item on the list. But still very cool.

Yeah, "fugly" is family friendly :)

That boxy unit doenst bother me too much. I will think it is beautiful when I can read an engine check code!
