Scangauge II Transmission fluid temp in GMT-800 truck?

Anyone else with a GMT 800 (AKA "NBS", 2000 - 2006 full size Chevy/GMC) running a Scangauge II and showing transmission temps?
.
I'm Trying to install the Scangauge II on my '04 Suburban LT after getting it back from Linear Logic. Having a little difficulty getting it to read TFT (Transmission Fluid Temp.)
.
I downloaded the X Gauge GM Specific codes from Linear Logic and programmed exactly what is there for the VPW protocol:
.
TXD: 6C10F1221940
RXF: 046205190640
RXD: 3008
MTH: 00090005FFD8
.
When I try to look at TFT it seems to jump up and down, sometimes its showing 240 and the next second it's - 35.
.
Are there different codes I should be using? According to the Scangauge it should be using the VPW protocol.
.
Thanks in advance!
.
PS: Have to give a big :26_7_2: to Linear Logic. I bought my SG in 2012, and they come with a 3 year warranty, which means that when mine stopped working in December of 2015 it was already nearly a year out of warranty.
.
DESPITE that, they had me ship it to them (at my expense) and they fixed it for free and sent it back. My total expense was the $6.00 it cost me to mail it to them. Oh, and I sent it on about the 5th of January and had it back a week later.
.
If you're looking for an OBD-II plug-in gauge I can't recommend the SGII highly enough. Yes, it's more expensive than an UltraGauge or a dongle you can plug in and use your smart phone to read with the Torque app, but it works great and their customer service can't be beat!

I have a 2004 Suburban 1500 4x4 LS and have a ScanGauge II and having the TFT is great.

I believe all GM Vehicles pre-2004 were VPW. 2004 and after can be both VPW or CANSF, so maybe try doing the CANSF codes?.. or there is a way to check which mode the ScanGauge is sensing in the settings.... Also- see the note in the below link about adding a 01 at the end of the code, I think I remember having the same problem but that was years ago...)

I can check my truck after I get home from work to see exactly what I typed in as well to see if we match up...

If all that doesnt work, do you have a bluetooth OBD dongle and Torque? Maybe seeing what it is indicating there as well, if it's the same, may be a bad sensor.

Also agree the ScanGauge service is awesome, I had a similar experience with their warranty. Also having a dedicated display for TFT and a few other critical variables at all times is important (sometimes the Bluetooth dongle to torque apps is shaky, plus your phone or tablet may not always be on that screen). 100% recommend.

If you can do that, that would be great. Just to double check. I know I generally go with the "default settings" because I figure the default is usually correct but I could try something other than VPW.
.
Right now I'm waiting to get an E-test on my truck, don't want to plug it in until the E-test is done. I already have the hole drilled for the cable and know exactly where I'm going to mount it (in the dash pocket that was used for the cassette deck on some versions of the truck. Cable will be routed over the steering wheel and excess will be tucked behind the center console.)

I will look at it when I get home today... I think I remember having to type the codes over again, so maybe it was for that reason...

That is exactly where I put it. I put some velcro in the pocket, and it has now been there for at least 4 years. Almost looks stock!

Looks like a few of them have a 01 at the end. I now remember having to do a process of elimination when I programmed it in

Thank you for that! The good news is that my truck passed emissions yesterday so now I can install the SG, probably this weekend.
.
I use double-sided 3m mounting tape for mine. Only thing I've found with that is you can't put it on if it's too cold, it won't stick. I think we're going to have a reasonably warm weekend so I may try to get the SGII installed Saturday.

Hey, speaking of trans temps, have you seen these companies that rebuild the instrument clusters on GM trucks from this era?
.
http://circuitboardmedics.com/
http://www.fixmygauges.com/
.
Both of those companies will rebuild your instrument cluster with all new stepper motors, and as an option they will add LED lights and even add in the transmission temp gauge. The second company (Digital Dash Solutions) also will give you the option of "upgrading" the dash to an SS or Escalade style, white or black face. Since my cluster has the "dim PRND321" problem, I'm going to have to send it in anyway, and thinking I'll probably do the trans temp upgrade as well.

Funny, in California, I've had trouble with the double sided tape/ velcro melting in the heat, not the cold haha.

Interesting on the TFT gauge in the cluster, didn't know that was possible. I like the idea of having that indicator as in front of me as possible, especially with towing and mountain driving, it's important to keep an eye on it. Let me know if you end up doing it and if you like it.

For the LED's I've done them myself to a dim red LED. If you've ever soldered, you can easily change the LED's, just FYI, maybe save you some money. Took an hour, including getting the cluster out of the truck. (Don't think you can fix the PRDNL dim problem yourself without replacing the entire display,. so maybe for that one it is worth it.)

Let us know when your Scanguage works!
