Anyone have any news on the gaskets, one guy called him and got voice mail. I have been leaving e-mails to no avail, are we out of luck?
If we have to make our own gaskets does anyone know the thickness of them so orders can be made?
Thanks...

I'll search for it when I get a minute but at one time I posted a blueprint of the gasket, OD, ID & thickness.

Thanks so much, there are a few of us eager to use the cans. I really do appreciate your response and I am sure that there are others as well.
Thanks,
Steve

DSTactical also sells both gaskets separately. Even to those of us in the US. Price unknown.

I missed out on this buy, and will be purchasing some MFCs direct (albeit, shipped and picked up Canada).

Just got a nozzle from DS Tactical. No issues at all, shipping was reasonable and fast. Just another thumbs up for the company for anyone looking to purchase from them.

Just placed an order for 2 seals from DS Tactical. Kinda sucks though becuase I think we paid for the seals from the goup buy, though I really cannot be mad, considering, he did get me two beautiful cans.

What color are the gaskets designed for the gasoline? I found gray ones and all my other cans are black.. Also thanks for the info from everyone.

Steve,

Grey gaskets are for gasoline.
Black (Viton) gaskets are for diesel, gasoline and *other* fuels. They are the more expensive of the gaskets.

Not so fast. Viton's can have a more grey appearance than the black rubber. Comparing OE Scepter gaskets in my cans, the Vition is in fact 'light black' whereas my rubbers are just plan black.

Rubber should not be used with gasoline and can cause the cap flange to crack and make removing the cap difficult. I don't know if the viton has any issue with diesel or not but given the fact Scepter specs rubber for the diesel I suspect there is some reason? Could be cost alone?

Another ident is the yellow "slash" mark on the side of the rubber diesel gasket. This is typical with military issue (as in never changed out from vendor) and can help answer the question of the material used in the gasket. Follow Kurt's advise, and if unsure, take the time to post up a pic of what you are working with, these cans and accessories are VERY hard to source and a blown flange can be a costly/untimely demise.

Kornfused, I have black ones on my original Scepter gasoline cans. I also found two greyish gaskets that I got from where I don't know. Am I correct in thinking that the grey looking ones are the ones I want? Also I appreciate your sending the info for the gaskets but I could not open it, I also e-mailed the man Tom in Pa asking if he still makes gaskets.
Sure is a hassle finding gaskets..
Thanks to everyone...
