Scheel Mann Vario XL seats in the Equipt 200 Series Land Cruiser

I came across what seemed like a pretty detailed youtube video covering the install into a FJ cruiser, I'd imagine much of the electrical work would be applicable?

Been researching a seat upgrade for my 2010 GX460 - I find the stock seats really uncomfortable.

Sadly, that’s a 5 year old video and Metal Tech no longer seems to sell the emulation modules, that I can find. Around the time of the video I did a full on search to find the modules and never could. I could find them for other cars, particuarly sports cars, but everyone seemed to quit selling them for Toyotas. Metal Tech used to list them as not available back then, today they don’t seem to be anywhere on the website. I guess liability issues? I haven’t had luck finding them elsewhere either, but then I quite looking a while ago.

I might have kept my Tacoma if I could have put Scheel Manns in, but I still would love to find the modules for my 4 Runner. I did talk to Scheel Mann back then and they put me onto a shop in Berkley that wanted $8K at the time for two seats and full install including transplanting the weight sensors into the SMs — no thanks!

Anybody know of a source?

I just started looking at LX570s and they just don't have enough headroom at all. How does something so big end up so small inside?

Did you gain a lot of headroom by doing the planted/scheel-mann swap? I've got a set of Vario XL Seats sitting in my garage.

Wondering the same thing
