Hello,

Long time lurker here. With all the new Excursion thread action lately I thought I’d finally make my first post since I’ve done a lot to my Ex and can hopefully answer questions to anyone building up theirs.

For sure more on conversion. I have a 12 valve and a common rail sitting in the garage and my brother wants to get rid of his ex. Motor is toast. Wife is on board:)

Thanks for all the compliments!

Truck started with the 6.0l but after blowing the head gaskets twice, the second time with head studs and "bulletproofed", I decided to make the switch.

Motor was out of an '06 Ram that rolled with 50k miles. Conversion parts came from Destroked. With Destroked adaptors, PCS Controller and torque convertor it mates up to the original 5R110 transmission and shifts nicely.

The spare tire does take up a bunch of room in the back. Mod'ing the rear bumper to include a tire carrier is on my to-do list.

I love the Icon's both off road and on, it actually rides really nice. A friend has the Fabtech kit and it rides a lot rougher on the street.

Looks like a real nice build. What's your MPG and range? And I'm curious about the lower center dash panel, is that a custom piece?

Did you do the swap your self? Did you have to swap over the ecm? sorry have a thousand questions
