Screwing around with a Eurovan!

sorry for you loss.
I love the picture with the awning, because his face seems to say "Why are you over there and I have to stay here?"

I periodically look at eurovans in Craigslist because of this thread.

.

That was exactly the scenario. ****** are you making me sit here? You are over there! I want to be with you!

We were laughing (and crying) about this a few days ago while looking at 10 years of Guinness pictures. There are a ton of pictures that he is NOT in, but you know the reason he is not in the picture is because he was at my feet while I was taking the picture.

Thanks guys.

There are definitely a few moments that I'm not very motivated to work on the Eurovan since part of the point of the van was the dogs & my daughter.

But......I have moved forward and made a little progress tonight.

Got part of the floor done, despite the rain!

Since I'm not running the rear facing seats I had to cut a few blanks and fill in the holes on the sub floor where those seats mounted.

This is the new laminate wood floor. The floor has a silver tint to it that matches the gray interior. Sorry for the dark cell phone pics. It was dark and raining out.

It is supposed to be a floating floor. The planks all attach to each other with offset adhesive backing. I then put down some 3M super trim adhesive and stapled the adhesive sections down (so you can't see the staples, they are under the planks)

So, the subfloor and the planks are one? Or, is the subfloor secured and the planks floating on that? This is one option that I am considering.

Wow that's fantastic! How much weight did that add? Ive put flooring like that down before and it's not exactly light.

Whatever one box weighs. I'll try to remember to look at the shipping label tonight.

The stuff is about 2mm thick.

It's very similar to a vinyl stick on tile. Except the pieces don't stick down, just to each other.

Here is the piece I trimmed out of the door opening. You can see how thick it is. The grey strip is part of an adhesive backing that interlocks the pieces.

The shipping weight was 37lbs. That included 2 boxes and all the other packaging. So after trimming I'm guessing it added about 30-33lbs to the van. Should actually help dampen road noise.
