Second Gen Tacoma Bumper on Third Gen Truck?

I have done some searching here and elsewhere and don't see anyone talking about this, maybe I am not searching with the right questions, so please don't flame me for not searching.

Question is will a second generation bumper/ bull bar fit a third generation truck. I have Trail Gear front and rear bumpers and would like to know if they will fit a 2016 third gen truck? I spent some time with a tape measure and it looks like the front will work, Trail Gear stuff is not fit tight to the bodywork like some of the higher end bumpers. From what I understand the frame on the second generation trucks are the same as the third generation.

I’ve been thinking of the same procedure because frankly I don’t think any of the third gen specific bumpers are worth the expense and don’t have the trail-practicality of the trail gear stuff fabricated for the 2nd gens. was wondering if you have attempted the swap yet, any help would be appreciated.

My guess is the bumpers will bolt to the frames. AFAIK Toyota didn't make drastic changes there (for example suspension components interchange).

However the sheet metal did get a pretty extensive change. So I'd bet unless you're considering very generous shapes or perhaps willing to do some sheet metal cutting the answer will be they won't. If the fits were close I'd expect all the manufacturers would love to list them as 05-18 rather than 05-15.
