Hello!

I’ve built a 2022 F-450 Super Duty. I’ve owned the truck since new. A friend and I built and or installed ALL of the parts on the truck. The truck drives awesome. I’m selling it to move on to another project. As the rules require, the truck IS my own. I am NOT a dealer. I would love to answer any questions. It has 37,520 miles on it. The list of upgrades is pretty extensive. She has zero issues. I am retiring from the army so I am between Idaho and Washington frequently. The truck spends most of its time near Idaho Falls, ID.

Nice truck. Too bad I am not ready to purchase one yet. Probably another year or two but I have been saying that for the last four or five years. GLWS

I really went the extra mile with this truck probably much further than I needed to. Especially with having it fully dry ice blasted and under coated and then having the paint correction and full ceramic coat done. Just those alone cost nearly $6000.00!

But it drives nicer than any F-450 I’ve ever owned or driven.

The entire underside of the truck has been dry-ice blasted and treated with a special black undercoating. This process not only removes buildup but also provides long-term protection against salt, rust, and general corrosion. It also makes future cleaning much easier.

The exterior of the truck has been professionally paint-corrected and ceramic coated. The coating adds a deep shine and ensures that the surface stays easy to maintain—mud, bugs, and dirt simply don’t stick.

In the pictures you can also see the large, upgraded, heavy duty transmission pan that replaces the OEM composite/plastic pan.

What are we looking at in pic 4 of your first post?
Electric fuel pump for the Auxiliary tank. It has an electric pump, hose, filter and nozzle. That way you can refill the truck or equipment. It sits in its own compartment that has a lid over it that can be locked. It is also protected from the elements.

Just curious as to your original plans. Mount a camper in the bed, tow a large trailer off road or what? Bummer to have to move on after so much work.

I towed with it. I have an XR22 Imperial Off-Road camper. I wanted to build something that could tow a gooseneck, recover a vehicle, go camping, etc. I’m retiring from the military after 22 years, we still have six kids at home, so now I’m building an Excursion. I figured two vehicles like this wouldn’t be necessary.

Just lurking given this is well over my budget, but wanted to say this is the best-looking front bumper for current gen F250 I’ve seen, by a mile. Nice work!

Funny story about the front bumper. When my buddy and I finished it, we hauled it over to a shop for powder coat.

I chose that shop specifically because they advertised a zinc coating before powder coat—made sense for corrosion resistance. But when I got the bumper back, there were already a few flaws. Still, I pressed on: bolted everything up, winch, wiring, the whole setup. Then the blemishes started showing up. Bubbles cracking, flaking, uneven texture—it drove me nuts.

I even grabbed a can of micro-wrinkle satin black Krylon to touch things up. From ten feet away it looked fine… But every time I walked past the truck, my eyes went straight to those stupid spots. I’d tell myself, “No one will ever notice.” Then the OCD half of my brain would scream, “LOOK AT IT! IT’S RUINED!”

So back apart it came. Off came the bumper, the winch, the lights, the wires, the brackets, the adaptive cruise sensor—everything! Just so I could drag the bumper back to the shop for a mulligan.

Moral of the story? I don’t think I’ll ever build out a new truck again. Next time I’m going for something already scratched and dinged; then at least when I spot a blemish, I can convince myself it was there all along.
