Selling photos

yesterday I started a thread and published several panoramas from my Iran travel by the car.
Guys in that thread gave me an idea about making album with all my photos. And on Nathanael's website I saw that he sell nature and landscape photos.
As I understood, he publish them in galleries where buyers can order them after review. This is a good way, but I want to ask if someone here sells own photos - what methods does he use and is it real to get some good money from this business or it is like a roulette: either many orders, or nothing?
Galleries? Ebay? Shutterstock? Magazines?

There are several professional photographers on this forum. I am not one. However, I have sold a few photos and prints via my online gallery site at SmugMug. I HIGHLY recommend Smug if you are thinking of going this direction.

Here is my site, there are many, much better ones, to look at though:

Also, they do coffee table books pretty inexpensively :)

Thanks for advice!
Books are cheap, but shipping to Russia will be expensive for me :))
Anyway, it's a good idea and I will try to create a book with my photos, I've got a lot of photos since 2003 when I bought Ford Maverick and started to travel :)

By your advices I created a small Photo Store on my website.

Photography is not my primary specialization, so I will invest all money earned from this store to my new expeditions and adventures, to bring you new pictures :)
