SEMA Hilux, just to make us drool.

Personally I think the tacoma has way better looking lines but I would like some of the Hilux's HD options.

We have the Hi-Lux in the UK and the 2wd version (the low-lux, as I call them).
I prefer the look and extra width of the Tacoma, that we can't get over here!

Exactly! Heck, even without a diesel I'd take a Taco with the Hilux Chassis and better bed. I dig the functional tie down hooks on the Hilux bed.

Yeah, I go back and forth on diesel...not that it matters since we can't get them here! Ha Ha! A gasser works fine for me, Toyota does need to throw that DI 4.0 V6 or the 4.7 V8 in there....260+ hp would be nice. I think the Lexus 4.3/4.7 is over 300 HP. Manny transfer case while they are at it. ;)

I dig those tie-downs as well, probably wouldn't use them though, since I run a topper 99.9% of the time. Would like that regular cab with a 7.5' bed though.

While the Taco is bit better looking, I really don't mind the HiLux....will take better capacities over looks any day.

I like the looks of the Hi-Lux BETTER than the Tacoma. For one thing I have never liked the square fender wells. At $45,000 for the auto version it would never be happening for me though. The truck I have will be my last one. I figure we have just about the same number of laps left in us.

Dear Mr. Toyota

Please bring the Hilux to the USA.

I would LOVE to have that exact pickup. Perfect.

Well I do LOVE my Tacoma to the point of, "You can have it when you pry it from my cold... Well ok, I'll take a new one."

While I like the looks of the Tacoma better, I do like some of the features on the Hilux.
1 Diesel with the better range and power
2 Fully boxed frame (I think that's what gives them better capacity)
3 The little add ons like the cargo hooks

Eh....No diesel, lack of utility-esque bed....no thanks. Plus I like the smaller size of the tacoma/hilux.

Is damn near the size of the 2013 HiLux single cab long bed, actually slightly smaller, but with an 8' bed instead of a 7.5'. The HiLux has a wider track by 3" at 69" vs the Tundra at 66". Wheel base of the Hilux is 121", the Tundra 120". Could get a diesel engine from Diesel Toys, and be in the ballpark as a brand new Tacoma. Betcha you could do a truck and engine swap for around $26K-ish.

Order from Ford Aus the bed anchor points, like they use on the Ranger or make your own.

It is very possible to get something real close to that single cab HiLux, without too much effort.

Containerized had some nifty bed anchors made.

Personally I like the looks of the '04 Tacoma DC better than both the current Tacoma and much more than the HiLux. I was just given a 6.2 L diesel Blazer, and I don't love paying extra for the fuel over gas. I will keep my '05 Tundra for as long as possible.
