ShiftSense Pro is a plug-and-play solution which requires no modifications to the OEM programming, instrumentation, or the ECU. It is enabled and operates automatically when the gear-selector is placed in the sequential-shift "S" mode.
The shift-mappings provided by the device are optimized and refined for all driving situations, always pairing the appropriate gear selections (upshifts and downshifts) with the engine's power curve. "

Upgradeable to the new V2 chip from manufacturer for $12, which upgrades it to work with 2018's, and provide the following for all years (2016-18):
" The V2 device now contains three shift-map options which can be selected by the driver based on driving preference:
Level 1: Lower RPM shift points, less aggressive.
Level 2: (default selection), optimized for all around performance and has been the baseline programming on prior units (V1).
Level 3: More aggressive shift map, designed to achieve slightly higher RPM for performance driving and trailer towing.
[Selection is performed by a simple programming-procedure, which the driver can do from the drivers seat using the shift lever any time the engine is turned off.] "
It does really change the odd factory shifting to something very similar to my Gen 1 Tacoma, which I liked. Selling because I just don't find myself using it; I got used to new shift mapping.
