Shooter trash

Tread Lightly!

Observer
Thank you guys for your efforts in cleaning up! There are numerous examples around the nation of clubs getting together to clean up their recreational areas, even if those areas are not specific to their type of recreation. While the preferred option is obviously for each group to take care of themselves, it is admirable to see you taking on that challenge.

You guys are definitely a shining example of the "Do Your Part" portion of our 5 Principles. Keep up the good work! :wings:

EVERY time I see this topic in the New Posts list, my mind automatically translates it to, "Scooter Trash".

I thought the same thing, though in my day the term was "scooter tramp".

It's too bad. In total the Four Peaks Pickup cleaned up just over 50 tons of trash. 90% of it was from shooting. I'm a shooter so I hate to call it shooter trash because I hate to consider those people actual shooters. They're just folks who bought a gun and went to blow some things up. I call them idiots.
Sort of like when I see a bunch of folks in UTV's dropping beer cans along the trail as they head to Crown King or wherever. I don't consider them offroaders. Just idiots.
Any real offroader or shooter that belongs to a club of any sort would never do either of these acts.

If I have time to put the Four Peaks Pickup on again in the future I will, but in the meantime I sure hope everyone keeps doing their best to fill some extra bags of trash when there are out and about. There are more responsible people like us I believe, but left to their own devises the "idiots" will ruin our deserts and mountains.
