Shower floor in the field?

What do you all use for the thing you stand on when you use your portable shower in the middle of nowhere?

No one wants to shower while standing in the mud you would produce or stand barefoot in cactus spines.

A few options:
Rubbermaid bin/action packer lid
Sandals
Wood strip roll

Honestly, I have made my own wood strip roll. (A blatant copy of fancy ones advertised on here) and while it is rather pretty to look at, a plain old Rubbermaid lid is both more comfortable to stand on, and easier to clean.

I've made my own for decades out of cheap 1x2 pine. When it gets beat up enough, just toss it in the fire and make another one. Usually ends up looking like this:

I use either a floor mat from my truck or a plastic bin if one is empty. I've also have used a 4'x6' tarp. Try to use what's already in the truck.

We have a teardrop so a step-stool was a requirement to work in the kitchen. We got a "Camco 43676 Adjustable Height Aluminum Platform Step" from amazon so we use it in the shower. In the tall grass we put the feet down, in the dirt we fold the feet up for the shower. I put a little chain wax from the dirt bike in the hinges and all is well for the water.

A door mat works great. They store easy and work well for multiple uses including a shower mat.

I've seen people use inflatable little kiddie pools also which seemed like a good idea.

I bought bulk rubber mat from Tractor Supply for use as a bed liner in the Tacoma. A 2' x 2' scrap makes an indestructible shower pad that is just thick enough to cushion the feet on uneven rock surfaces and firm enough to provide support on sand.

I found a thick rubber door mat at Target that has like a sponge texture on top so water runs off the sides of it (the bottom is solid). Works well and it's comfortable to stand on.
