NO NO NO not Subzila, my shell card!! I did not think it had a stopping point but tried to fill up Subzila today and it stopped at $100, my fuel gage on the other hand still had room left before it would stop. Wound up at between 3/4 and full, and that was 25 gallons of 93 octane premium!! It was just under 1/4 tank so though I would get it topped all the way up, but no dice.

Well at least I know when it hits half a tank I should be able to fill it all the way up and also know how much gas is left when it says half. I think the gage is purdy close but not really sure how close, I am thinking at a 1/4 tank it must be around 10 gallons or so which would be correct for a 40 gal tank, so was prolly only shy 5 gallons of a full tank today. I plan to try and not let it get much below a 1/2 tank and switch back and fourth between 87 and 93 octane so it stays blended, hope that will keep it running good, just have to wait and see!

I had a 2010 F150 SuperCrew with a 36 gallon tank back when gas was over $4/gallon. That drove me nuts! The pump would shut off at $100 and it'd take another $5-10 bucks to fill it up the rest of the way. I understand your pain!

That is likely a line determined by the gas station and / or card issuer. I know I have had some that shut off at $100, and some that will keep going. When you run a card as "Credit" at a gas pump they will typically only pre-auth $1.

Welcome to the Big Leagues. My '02 Superduty diesel sports a 38 gallon tank. With diesel in the $4.00/gallon range for most of the last 5 years, I normally have to cycle through the pump twice to fill her up all the way. I ended up with $172 in the tank back when the price was in the $4.60 range in 2008.

$75 on my debit card - seems like every station, so I think it's the bank. I've run into $100 on the credit card, but it seems more hit-and-miss, so I think that one might be on the station. Either way, just swipe it again and you're good-to-go. I keep hearing you don't want to run the tank down past 1/4 on these due to the pump being cooled by gas in the tank.

My 22 gal tank couldn't be filled in one go when gas was $4.50 most stations cut off at $75 and I even had one stop at $60. Found out this was the station and not my card.

Say what???? you must not know what Subzila is, it's a 1986 with a mark IV big block and mechanical pump, no cooling issues like newer stuff.

yea i haven't been able to fill up any of my suburbans for years. 42 gallons of diesel, around 130 bucks to fill up right now. Doesn't even surprise me when it stops anymore.

52 gallons at $4.12 (so far), feels like an old testament sodom and gomorrah scene every couple weeks...
