A few more pics of the raised bed bars with the 23 Zero RTT mounted. As you can see the fridge slides underneath now! Clears up room in the back for my adventure dog Shadow.
I installed a Midland MXT275 GMRS unit a while ago but just now found a good mounting solution for the handheld mic. The unit itself is tucked away in the glovebox since all the control are on the mic. Also mounted my iPhone beside it. Since I use Gaia GPS on CarPlay I don’t have a need to mount a tablet.
Also pictured is the Midland 3db ghost antenna mounted to their magnetic mount on the roof. This is a great setup for forest traveling with the possibility of low branches. I also have their 6db whip antenna if needed for long range comes that I can use in more open spaces like Colorado or Moab this summer.
One of my favorite upgrades has been the Mountain Hatch tailgate table insert. It is made of food grade cutting board material. Easy to clean, perfectly flat and level, and has cup holder cutouts. Great for ditching the fold out table and just using the one built into the truck.
Also I haven’t talked about my fridge or stove. The fridge is an Alipcool 55 from Amazon. Not the best of course but it works great. Keeps all my food and drinks cold. The stove is my favorite piece of kit that I have. It’s the Jetboil Genesis dual burner stove. I use two cast iron skillets to cook everything, and I also have the satellite burner with the boiling cup and French press for making coffee. This system is pretty much perfect for overlanders wanting a complete system that is compact yet quality.
I also did a snorkel install as one of my many covid projects. Nothing like drilling and cutting into a perfectly good sort of new vehicle. It took me a couple of hours of checking, doublechecking and rechechecking the template layout before drilling the first hole!
