I just put a new OME lift and 255/85/16 BFG KM2 on my 2008 Double Cab Tacoma.

I picked up the OME springs from a friend, then got the rest from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. I did the install with the help of a friend in my garage. I didn't get any pic of the install process, but i wasn't too bad. Kurt was nice enough to let me come down late and build the front struts for me.

I went straight from the stock 265/70 with 32000 miles on them to the KM2's. Those tires are sweet. They are a little louder than what I'm used to, but not bad. The good news is they do not rub at all.

Hopefully a new ARB front bumper is in my future. :)

I've come out of lurk mode to say:

1- Nice truck, looks good with the new shoes and lift

2- What rack is that? I like it. More pics of that pls.

Thanks!

Good looking rig you have there. I too would like a few more photos of the rack.
Thanks and welcome.

So about the rack.

I wanted something to hold a basket and have more room for camping gear.
We had some 1"x2" box steel laying around work, so we went to Vectorworks and drew up a quick design. I wanted something to be out of the rearview window and to be strong and removable. I have a friend with a press brake who bent some steel plates to sit on the bed rail and also mount into the factory rail system. For a recent trip to Elephant Hill I mounted a friends Yakima LoadWarrior Basket and loaded it up. The rack handled really well. It did feel a little different with weight above the bed, but worked perfectly. I had gotten some ideas for the rack from Kurt's Tacoma that has a Frontrunner rack on it.

Here are some pics.

Let me know what you guys think of it.

P.S. We are still learning how to weld so pardon some of the ugly ones. :sombrero:

Nice job on the rack

I figured it was a custom job...since no COMPANY seems to be willing to market a rack for the new Tacomas and their composite beds. Must be a liability thing.

I have access to a bunch of square tube too. I think I'm going to have to copy that design and use it in my 1st gen. Thanks for the pics, it looks like a great setup
