Simple But Effective

Kinda been toying with the idea of installing a small, no thrills, adjustable, rugged and wired for lighting basic compass . I decided on a Brunton 58CE Rally Compass. My thoughts, maybe just right for a backup. I decided on the location as pictured with my FJ62, easy reading from any seat angle including the back seat for anybody who has a inclination to do so. I was impressed how well this liquid damped (lighted) compass performs over rough terrain. I give it a thumbs up. I was wondering what others have done !

Thank you all for the comments, The location was selected for various reason. One I did not want to drill into the original Dash Pad on top, I wanted it to be accessible without problematic issues and ease of wiring, great visibility and I could return the center cluster panel back to factory specs if need be. I used the cover plate for the rear A/C. I believe the North American FJ62 did not come with rear A/C nor was it offered as a accessory package. I could stand corrected. The rear A/C Cooler Cover pops out and easy to modify.

For Flagster, its the original carpet never been replaced and all items on the vehicle with the exception of one switch is not a OEM Toyota type replacement (but I did locate one last week, so it goes in soon). Its been a restoration in progress, very clean virgin / low mileage vehicle with the exception of occasional back road use for now. I do Like the champagne paint, it holds the duct etc... to a minimum, not a bad color. I believe it was the lowest production of colors. I could stand corrected. comments are welcomed.

I use various LC part suppliers, you may want to try this place out for carpet without breaking the pocket book, if not all ready
