skamper 060s- porta potty and battery advice needed

I am renovating a skamper 060s. Great little camper but there is no pooper in it. I have had the idea that I could move the battery to the outside of the camper and put a porta potty in its place under the small bench below the bunk with limited fabrication.

Has anyone else done this? and where do you think the best spot on the outside to mount the battery would be.? I was thinking my options are in the rear or just use a marine battery box and place it in the truck bed thru the side access panel once the camper is on my truck.

your thoughts are appreciated?

ive been thinking of doing two battery mount with cables connecting to the camper one on each side. just mount the battery with a universal batter holder from autozone or junk yard, two holes in the bed and tighten it down to keep it from sliding and tucked up away in front of the wheel well next to the front bed. then have a plug mounted to the outside of the camper that you just plug the batterys in before dropping the camper on the truck. having the battery in the front helps out with center of gravity and it allows your to load long items in the side wings in between the bed and camper. hope my idea helps out some!

You have inside pic? My battery is under overhead bunk on floor near my water tank in battery holder.I moved mine more toward right side in same spot to have more storage. I think inside near bottom cabinet would be good. Just make sore you put a vent on to go outside and screw down. Would love to see pic of inside.

If you click the blue underlined text on one of the posts by Davious it will take you to his build thread. It is very helpful. You should look up SLO F250's Skamper build thread as well.

I have had that set up on 2 campers now. Batteries are in marine battery boxes, and mounted to the bed with the supplied straps.

Wired into the main 12v supply is one half of an 8ga connector, the other half on the batteries. I make the connection before I lower the camper. Batteries are nice and safe in the bed, and protected from wind and weather. They still get charged as normal when the camper is plugged into shore power.

Hope that makes sense
