Slee rear bumper

I got a little gift from Colorado on Wednesday. A Slee rear bumper, TMJ front bumper, Slee sliders, and OME 2.5" lift kit. I only had time for the rear bumper install so far.
What would a thread be without pictures, so here we go.

A little before. While I was there, I ground the surface rust off the frame and painted everything I could.

Rear shot, don't tease me because my spare is ugly.

The other stuff, I hope to have done in a week or so.

Very nice. I'm kind of curious why the spare is not offset.

How much does it block your rear vision? Someday I'm going to be needing one of those. Actually I need one now...I should say, someday I'm going to be affording one of those. :)

How is that exhaust working out? Louder than stock at all? More throaty?

I can't answer why, but I don't really notice it "blocking" my rear view. I do notice it when I look back. FYI I also have a Tundra Double cab with a Cap which means I can't see much out the back.

The exaust it great. A little throaty but at idle I can't really hear it.

I hear what you mean on the cost. I assure it's worth it and very well made. I sucked it up and bought everything at once so I figure what I saved on shipping paid for the sliders.

Nice new toys! Thats a fun feeling when new stuff shows up for the rig. I'm wanting to do a rear bumper upgrad now. How far does the Slee bumper stick out from the gate? Thing I like about the stock bumper is that it is a good wide step from retrieving things from the roof basket.

Topic has been brought up on mud, and one reason christo did this is not to block the rear tail lights. I have one on my 100 and it didn't block the vision enough for my wife to mention it....so to me that means it does not block it that much :)

Yeah...even with my 315 spare it IMO works best in the middle rather than to one side or the other...its the least compromise.

Looks like Christo and team has added a couple new touches since I got mine: The tire carrier aluminum post cap (threaded I assume?) and the SS plate that looks like allows one to run the hinge lock in one of two positions (instead of having to weld the outer hole up as I did to make dealing with the tire carrier a little less of a hassle...especially when pulling the trailer).

I feel the middle is the best place too. He has made a few upgrades because several things are different than the instructions. The threaded Slee cap, the locking pins, and the SS plate on the right side.

I think middle is a good choice. I actually like it better that way, especially since I don't have any intention of carrying anything other than a tire on the rear. But I would like to see how it affects vision with a 285/75R-16 tire.

There was a couple of reasons why we centered the tire. We did it first on the 100 series and it worked out good. Seems like the over the shoulder glance visibility is better. The taillights are also more visible with bigger tires.

It also allowed us a place for the license plate and light. We used to do the license in the center of the tire, but in some states and with tall trucks, the height was a legal issue. The Hella light that we use for the license plate is also a better quality than the lite-n-bolt that we used before.

I should have an answer for you soon on this one.
