sleep in vehicle - bug repellent

I'm in the process of setting up my ZJ for sleeping in. The one thing I was just thinking about is there are lots of nice spots for bugs to sneak in. I was just wondering what people were doing to prevent themselves from being eaten alive. I was thinking of doing a micro mesh thing to hang in the jeep that would just cover the sleeping area. Another idea would be something like the new off clip on things.

One thing you could try (and I hated it, but it worked); eat spicy food for a couple of days before going out. The active ingredient gets in your blood as a toxin, and bugs don't seem to like it when they sense it as your body eliminates it through your breath and sweat. I got that from my dad, who built a lot of the pipelines in swampy areas and otherwise skeeter-infested places.

Mosquito Nets are way to go....

I have camped in the bed of my Tacoma for 2 years on and off. I tried a homemade "screen" set-up and it worked ok. Then I bought a mosquito net, the type that hangs over a cot or bed and it worked great! Cost about 10 bucks and easily set up. So-what a few bugs get into your vehicle with a window open... they wont get you with a mosquito net.
