Sleeping bags- Down vs. Synthetic

I love my down Western Mountaineering Alpinlite. Haven't cared to sleep in a synthetic bag since I bought it.

Western Mountaineering is the shiz. I should have splurged on one of their bags instead of the Kelty I got as a second bag.

Agreed. I have replaced all of my sleeping bags with WM except for my winter bag, as I haven't come anywhere near killing my Marmot COL (plus it was a wedding present from my wife).

I love using a down comforter type system. For the past several years I havent slept inside a sleeping bag but instead I unzip it fully and use it as a comforter. The key to warmth and comfort is the pad which is largely a personal choice. I have used my -5 degree bag like this in all temps and have never been too cold or too hot. Down seems to work better than synth. because down tends to drape over the body better.
I used this system on a 9 day hike in the Sierras last year and had temps between 50 at night near Bishop and 20 degrees at 12,000.

If yopu havent tried this system I would highly recomend giving it a shot.

Those are all synthetic bags.

Another important thing to look at is fit. I bought two mummy bags a few years ago and thoroughly regret my decision. If you are broad in the shoulders there aren't many mummy bags besides a wide big agnes or comparable that will fit you. Thinking of going back to a slightly roomier bag to get a better night sleep.

Well i go for synthetic , i sleep 5 years ago whole night in Pa on top of snow when 2f and feel warm good

Regarding size ..., well i am 6.4 and i feel comfortable

Other option a Japanese mount rescue sleeping bag combination of silk in said in synthetics shell (can you spend close to $ 1500 if you petite and $ 2400 if you wont a square one ) ???
