If the platform was the same height as the top of the center console....then the forward portion of the platform could just fold forward onto the center console. Alternatively you could have two small cables/lines/straps that just connected to the A to B pillar 'roll-bar' spreader to hold up the front edge of the platform.

I think with the 2-door style seats the sleeping platform would be pressing 6.5-7ft?

I am envisioning the platform being made up of three sections that where joined by hinges like you see on some old tables...the ones that are double jointed and allow the panel to fold back on itself in either direction. That would make for a very flexible system that could allow the platform to be stored behind the 2nd row of seats if needed. It could also be a fairly compact unit that could be easy to pull out when not in use....perhaps connecting to a light weight aluminum frame that could stay in the vehicle....

We came out with this a few years ago.
Im only about 5'-7 and its a snug fit in the back.

Hopefully one of these days it will go into production.

But gives you an idea.
