Sleeping platforms?

Can someone help me find threads showing plans to build a sleeping/storage platform for the Hundy? I'm thinking of something that will be the same height as the second row seats folded down that I could put my pad over for full length sleeping and storage room underneath either with pull out drawers or room for storage bags/boxes.

Commercial manufacture would be fine but I'm having a heck of a time coming up with search terms that show me much.

Sleeping platforms are a popular mod for Honda Element owners. Here's a collected thread of versions that might give you some ideas

My platform is 4x4 ft, replacing the rear seats. With the front seat backs folded back, I have 4 x 8ft sleeping area. I used pine boards, slotted angle iron, and 1/2" plywood. Others use steel pipe legs. Others make the whole frame from pvc pipe.

I have some photos in this picasa gallery

I believe Sierra Expeditions will be carrying African Outback equipment soon which might include their 100 series drawers.

Like I said, it's a daily driver/family rig. I can't remove the second row seats. I'm thinking the Waeco 18 or 25CF in the front passenger seat or floor. Remember, I'm traveling solo.

You don't really gain any room moving it to the floor. Seems like you'd lose some. Regardless, I don't need something anywhere near that size for me.

Any more help specific to a Hundy? I have almost no fab skills and nothing more than a couple saw horses and a Skill saw (straight lines are an issue for me...). I don't have much of a budget these days either.

while doing some research on light weight portable/foldable/stowable bed systems i came accross the Froli Sleep System that would allow one to utilize a 2" to 4" mattress topper as the mattress over the FSS. It is something that shows up incorporated in some high end rigs. Reading the reviews one comes away thinking it rivals the best pillow top luxury mattress setups...that would be welcome on a trip!
