A group of us went on a last minute run and the conditions were fun. Watch out for some deep snow pack at the trail head off the west entrance on hwy 4 but after that it's all mud, water, and rocks.

It's pretty much always packed with the same amount of gear when I plan on camping the only thing that really changes is food and beer quanitys. I'm not really sure on the amount of weight.SOCALFJ said:Great shots. How much of a load do you carry in the tacochaser if you know you're going on a trail like that?
No problem bro. Water is flowing at a good cfm and Mosquito Lake was looking good on my way out, but I didn't get a chance to fish, kinda in and out. The only water crossing that might swallow a stock rig is the last crossing before the Spicer Res exit/entry, it was up to my doors and I run 37's. The snow pack at the Lake Alpine entry could be bad for those with out front and rear lockers or chains. If you get there early enough the snow will be a little more grippy. I just might go back out there this weekend if I can pull it off.4cruzer said:NICE!!!
Just the report I needed. Planning a trip up there this weekend. Looks to be some nice little mud holes there in the ladder section. Any fish caught? How's that little river flowing? By west entrance you mean lake Alpine, yes? And deep as in my buddie's barely lifted 06 tacoma couldn't make it to those first creekside camping spots?
Thanks for the report man.
