Slumberjack Overland Tunnel Tents

Let us know how the Big Agnes works out for you. I've never bought one of their tents but been tempted.

I did have a http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/redverz-atacama-expedition-tent and loved it for the things you are looking for in a tent (should anyone be interested in the future). When solo, I parked my motorcycle in the vestibule and stowed all my riding gear (i.e. wet or muddy etc) in there and had a nice dry space inside the tent. Big enough to stand up in with exception to the far ends. And when family camping the dog could use the vestibule. Shoot, we even put a porta toilet in there.

BA makes some high quality stuff. Big fan.

That's pretty nifty. Although next time I think it's going to look a little more like this:

Brown Santa just dropped off the BA. Pretty sweet little case it comes in. I'll do a writeup later and include a link here.

I'm also a BA fan - I have one of their 2 man backpacking tents I've been quite happy with, though it sees little use these days as I've gone all 'heavy weight' with an OzTent.

Eugene, you've made your choice, but another factor to consider is the packing size of the tent. The Kodiak's and Springbar style tents are ENORMOUS when stowed, and heavy.

TwinStick, that was an awesome story!

Size was definitely a consideration. The canvas ones have a relatively big footprint but are still "compact" when compared to an Oztent style tent.

The BA bag is marginally smaller than the Kodiak box at Cabelas but it is something like 20 pounds versus 80ish pounds. Actually makes a difference in a rig like my Cherokee or my wife's JK.
