Small Truck camper build

Tail-End Charlie
Fill and sand and a few coats of good paint carefully applied can go a long way to making wood look smooth and shiny.

A paint used to do the exterior trim on a house should hold up just fine and look pretty good.

A few pics of some more work.
filled the back in, hinged together a sliding bed/chair(needs covering and foam) Painted all inside corners with waterproof paint(the green), finished wiring, installed a few lights, 1'' foam insulation, vapor barrier/ king size mattress bags and finished the ceiling with t and g pine. Also caulked all corners inside and out and gave two coats of black waterproof paint outside.

I have been thinking of building one to hunt out of.

I was wondering if a thin wood veneer exterior and a spray on bedliner would work for both sides and the roof?

A few more pics. all the isolation is in and just about done the pine inside other then then the trim. As for the exterior I'm going to stick with 4X8 sheets of black poly pro with aluminum corner trim to cover the screw heads. For the roof I got a 5gal bucket of rubber roof cement, so I'll heat it up to make it nice and runny and paint a few good thick coats on. I have a few days off next week so I plan on finishing it up and getting it in the truck for a night or two, so I hope my next update is one with camping pictures!

Looks like a fun project. I'd love to try something along those lines. I've built a boat, why not a "stitch and glue" camper? I have a large auxilary fuel tank and tool box that make a conventional camper useless for me. I refuse to give up my 1600 mile range but I sure would like to be able to pass a hotel at least once and awhile.

Keep up the work and updates, I'm inspired.. (-:}

That is a nice looking build, and it got me thinking. So I went to talk to guys at the local car shop that works a lot will lineX. He said I should say away from useing it on a wooden camper, If there is any flexing in the coners it would start to crack open and leak. Also if water got in behind it my never dry out again and the liner would just start chiping off . Dont know if its true but just to be safe i'm still going to stay wil 4x8 poly pro.
