Smallish Jeep trailer? CDN M101, M416 or ?

Hi Gang!

I'm looking to buy a trailer about the size of a M101/416.
If I could find a good CDN M101 that didn't need a frame off resto for around $500 or so, I'd be a happy camper:sombrero:
Unfortunately, they don't seem too easy to find. I will be mounting my RTT on it, so I'll be building a top for it as well as outfitting it with other up grades to make it camp-able.
My problem is I would like it now...
If I can't find another option, some sort of readily available, commercially produced utility trailer will have to do. I understand that it won't hold up for long under any kind of off road use so if necessary that's the price I'll pay...

Suggestions and comments please:smiley_drive:

Edited to add that something like the trailer in this post would work just fine for now.

I found my M101 CDN via a For Sale posting at IH8MUD.com.

I paid $700. The trailer was already converted with hubs to match my LandCruiser. The only slightly significant rust was a little bit on the floor of the bed at the front, probably from water sitting in it from outdoor storage.

I had the trailer sandblasted, then used seam-sealing caulk on top of a 2x2 aluminum angle riveted underneath the bed. Primed and painted it OD.

In general, the M101 CDNs I've seen are in pretty good shape compared to US-surplus 1/4 ton trailers. Not surprising since they were built in 1992. I think the US M416 trailers are 1960s vintage. Keep looking and you will find one.

yeah, amazing how hard these are to find really. i had a mint condition one that was victim to a storage unit blaze; a total loss.

i am looking everywhere for one in similar condition; cannot believe i missed that very nice gray one that went up for sale on a few boards last month.

come on universe, help me out!
