Snorkle on 6.6 Duramax?

Is anyone running a snorkle on a 6.6 duramax diesel? I have a LBZ duramax that i'm looking to add a snorkle. I know that nobody makes a complete kit for it, but I've researched that a tacoma one is close.

I'm planning to vent my diffs/trans/transfercase also. I'm not looking to go through 10 feet of water, but Where I live its incredibly dusty.. But we also get snow, and rain.

What are the pros/Cons of running a turbo vehicle with a snorkle??

I have a Safari snorkel on my Avalanche 5.3L gas - no turbo. Something to make sure you think about is that the snorkels for Toyotas are for a much smaller engine displacement and thus might restrict your air flow too much. If I were you, I would reach out to AEV as they build snorkels for engines that are more your size. You just might need to do more massaging to make it line up properly on the fender. Good Luck!!!

Having a turbo makes little difference, but a simple hood mounted pre cleaner would have more of a positive effect than a snorkel, they come in plenty of diameters to meet cfm requirements. More info here https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=pre+cleaner+above+hood Plus there are numerous threads on this forum about it as well. And stay warm up there, I have a brother who works for Continental Resources and he keeps me updated on these storms you guys are getting. Shoot, you just might need a snorkel for some of those snowdrifts!

Someone just put a snorkel on an Avalanche. I'd think if you have the same fender and filter housing arrangement, it should be the same thing.

Regarding the turbo application, I don't think it would matter. The snorkel might be slightly more restrictive, but not by much.

My snorkel keeps my filter significantly cleaner than before.

What brand/Model are you putting on your avalanche? I have 2007 classic GMC, body lines should be similar.

The snow storms have been pretty good this year, I've lived here my whole life. I don't know if it would be restrictive...The opening on my aftermarket intake isn't very large, so really I don't think it would cause a problem, unless it was a extremely small tube..My engine bay stays pretty clean for the most part, but we have so much dust due to construction and living on a flat farm area, during certain seasons it gets crazy! I have to change my cab filter quite often or my whole dash after a day will be covered in dust.

My filter currently stays clean, until I take it out and see the side that actually is grabbing the air.. I'm looking for something better to keep the truck running great and the capabilities it also offers is great too.

I've seen this http://ok4wd.com/airflow-snorkel-for-2007-gm-silverado-and-sierra-duramax-diesel , but its not for the classic, I might be SOL other than making one or using a ss60HF like here http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/18269-Safari-Snorkel-conversion-how-to-guide...

Plenty of turbo diesels using snorkels... The patrol guys down under who have duramax conversions run at least a 4inch diameter stainless snorkel. I wouldn't go smaller.

So, random bit of info, but the 80 series snorkel isn't too far off from fitting the 07 classic. Only problem is a rather large gap at the bottom. My thoughts were to design a plastic piece that fit the profile of the snorkel and also fit the profile of the fender. Could possibly be 3D printed.

See my cad models below, I tried to show the gap in the 2nd pic.
