So how much is a 2003 E350 4x4 worth?

Fishy smell. Just for entertainment I'd call Paul (ebay) and see what he has to say, then call Sylvia (craigs) and see what she(?) has to say. Might be entertaining.

I would guess ebay is the legit listing.

Ask to come see it. See would gives you the crazy story.

I noticed that people selling these lift conversions want a lot of money.

If you have the extra cash and really like the van I would think about it and try to negotiate.

As long as he took care of it properly and can show you some records.

Both ads have 801 area code numbers. If the CL ad was fake, it most definitely wouldn't have the same area code phone number as the ebay ad. My guess is that the owner of the van is selling it on the CL ad and a dealer is trying to sell it on ebay. $16k would be a great deal for that van since it does have the 7.3 and its low miles.

Brain dump of research from google:

A search of the craigslist ad's phone number leads to this facebook page that was recently used to list used items for sale in West Jordan, Utah: https://www.facebook.com/Simply-seconds-277559289107468/ However, the address on the page does not actually exist, and there is no business in Utah named Simply Seconds, which is a red flag. It could be someone selling used stuff on craigslist in their spare time or it could be a scammer.

A search of the eBay listing's phone number produces a lot more results. It points to this website: nvsrockstars.com/ and the phone is listed with the name "Paul Jenson."

"Paul" and his associated phone number also have a few other listings out there on the internet, including this one for a lifted 4x4 Van: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=678&ad=37990270&cat=&lpid= Here's a website showing the build history of the vehicle: http://www.buslifeadventure.com/index.php/16-blog/92-4x4-ford-e350-van-for-sale and also his eBay listing for it back in November 2015: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-E-Series-Van-E350-/151894670747

Paul also posted a recent ad on 1/5/16 selling vehicle customization and body wrap services in Salt Lake City. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=38023745

According to Searchtempest.com, it looks like the van you are looking at was posted three times throughout Idaho within a week, but all the ads have since been deleted by the author. http://www.searchtempest.com/search...minAsk=min&maxAsk=max&minYear=min&maxYear=max

The active Craigs List ad was posted on 1/9/16 in Payette, Idaho and lists the mileage at 94,846 miles, whereas the eBay listing was posted on 1/13/16 in Salt Lake City and lists the mileage at 95,212 miles. The difference in mileage also corresponds to the distance between Payette, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah.

That said, my guess is the vehicle was initially listed in Payette, but moved to Salt Lake City in hopes of finding a better buyer (larger population and more disposable income to get a higher price?). I have two thoughts on the matter: (1) The vehicle is still being sold by the initial owner in a different town, or more likely (2) The guy (Paul) listing it on eBay bought it off craigslist from Sylvia in Idaho because he knew he could flip it for more and make a quick buck in Salt Lake City.

For what it's worth, a google search also turns up this twitter account (with the name Sylvia) in which the user posts the same phone number used in the CL ad: https://twitter.com/SylviaYesgirl9/status/623869653119401985, so it's likely Sylvia is not a fake name.

My recommendation: Call the CL ad first to see if the vehicle is still in Idaho and if the price is still at $16k. If it's not, ask who bought it. Then, call the Paul from the eBay listing and ask what, if any, modifications he made to it, and lowball the hell out of him knowing what he paid for the vehicle. You might be able to get it for a few thousand over the initial $16k.

The address for Simply Seconds does exist, but it's nothing more than somebodies home in a residential district. Her twitter account mentions something for sale due to "domestic matters". I'm guessing she's selling junk out of her home, the domestic matters might be a pending divorce, which may explain the difference in price on the van. Maybe she tried to unload it on the down-low. We've all heard those stories. :/

The only response I had to numerous messages / posts was the deletion of the craigslist posts. At this point I'm guessing that someone snapped it up at something under $16k and is looking to flip it for $26k. 'Murica

Use the "Make and Offer" function on eBay and offer him $19k and see if he bites. Given it's a handi cap van it will either be (1) harder to sell because of a limited market or (2) compel a premium should there be two people that get into a bidding war for a specialty vehicle.

A little off topic, but what do you guys think of the swivel front seats that this van has??

Danger or no danger?

Wondering if I should get mounts for mine.

**Not trying to jack this sale.

yeah I would like to at least be able to have a conversation with the seller about the vehicle though. It just makes me suspicious when folks won't respond to questions.

Most handicap equipped vans are placarded with a disclaimer that the vehicle has been modified and may no longer comply with the safety standards in effect at the time of manufacture.
