Hello Blackrubix, My name is Mike Mills . I am a So-Cal R.M.F. building out of Durango Colorado. I hope you get your XS soon you will love it. Jon does a great job at Canyon County. Are you planning to open a rental business in Texas. I am talking with a company here in Durango about renting our teardrops. Their name is Tonto trails. Right now they rent out Sportsmobiles and are considering adding teardrops. I think it will go over really well. I just found this thread and will start following. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi Chris, This is Mike with Voyager Adventure Teardrops first off thanks for the referral. As far as the camp stove is it safe in the enclosed space of the ARB room? Also thanks for your support of So-Cal teardrops. You really put our teardrops to the test. If you can't tear them up they can't be. :smiley_drive:

Glad to see you found this thread! Ill certainly test it haha. Yes it is safe on low settings with a window open for some ventilation. The fire pits are very controllable and we used ours under our awning. Without wind blasting it they should be very centered and small. If I light myself on fire ill be sure to come here and tell the tale lol

Hi Mike yes I am starting a rental Business in Texas...just patiently waiting the completion of my XS. I noticed after I placed my order no more than a week later So-Cal announced you as a R.M.F. and it would have been more convenient to use you as you are closer to my location. If the first trailer goes well and I am in the need for a second I will definitely give you a call. I'm thinking of going with a Buzz Off on the next build.

You'll be pleased with the SoCal. They're an awesome trailer!

I leave in a few days for the NW Overland Rally. Can't wait to get some camping in with the trailer.

And I have to spend the rest of the year still sleeping on the ground, Grrrr!! We don't want to rent as we are going all out on the XS build.
I was thinking about seeing if I could switch to one of the other builders, but their booked into October so I might as well wait until our Feburary delivery date as I'm less than 2hrs. from The Upland shop.

I was the same way Ricky. I know the feeling.

This will be my first summer with it. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of trips planned this summer with funds being a bit low.

Looking at a teardrop

Guys, I have been thinking about the teardrop, or another xventure trailer with a hardtop tent. I like the added features on the teardrop.

How does it handle rough terrain and does it get good airflow? I'm here in Prescott Arizona as well, and want to travel to Moab, etc.

Oh and I travel with my dog as well, so I have to figure in their comfort. :)

The teardrops do really well off road. They are softly sprung and they have adjustable shocks. So the body isn't getting jarred around. Granted I lower my speeds off road with the trailer and am a little more cautious but haven't had any issues. Just make sure you're comfortable backing a trailer before you take it to the trails.

They have a window on each door and either a small vent fan or a large fantastic vent with a reversible fan. If you close them all up you'll get a lot of condensation. We aways open the top vent and crack the side windows a little at night. So far we haven't had any major issues.

I camped in my trailer over the weekend. I'm in the PNW and our temps don't get too hot, except this weekend. I camped in 90-100 degree weather. Cooled down at night and I had my vent and windows open and felt fine. I only turned my fan on for a little bit at times.

It was great being able to just crawl right into the trailer and sleep.
