Softroading the Washington Cascades

Following the 2018 Northwest Overland Rally, our family continued on for about a week exploring the forest roads, mountains and fire tower lookouts in the northern Cascades. We utilizied our equipped 1G Sequoia and lifted softroader trailer to access some surprisingly beautiful areas.

I enjoy your reports. Is that narrow gauge rail near Icicle Creek?

Did a little googling and it looks like that narrow gauge belongs to the landowner (or former landowner, who has (had) a thing for trains, and was looking to develop the area. Apparently their is (was ) a train in the tunnel there at one point a number of years ago.

Interesting read...kinda vague if it is private property or not.

Yes I think this is pretty close to Icicle Creek area. The rail features were immediately adjacent to the forest road with no signs, fences or otherwise anything to suggest private property. The tracks even crossed the main road at one point - it was a neat area.
