1986 BMW 635CSI -- Manual

Very clean, very original, E24 1986 BMW 635CSI, in cinnabar red with black leather. This particularly loved example went through a mechanical refresh in 2013. Parts are OEM or Lemforder from BavAuto. Most work done at BMW specialty shop in AZ:

Recent items:
New tires 235/45Z R17 Nitto NT 555 Performance
New brakes
New clutch
New shifter and bushings
New battery
New ABS sensors
Full Tune-up - spark plugs, valve adjustments, banjos tighten, new performance fuel pressure regulator, all filters & fluids
Suspension- Spent over $3500 on new OEM / Lemfoerder suspension: new Upper & lower controls arms, idler arm, Tie rods, rear trailing arms, sway bar links.
BavAuto Performance springs & shocks, rear camber kit, Additional bushings
New sub-frame bushings -- this is a job you only want to do once
MWrench steering improvement
Stacks of receipts
New Guibo flex disc
New Blaupunkt Stereo

The Good:
• Rare 5 Speed Manual
• Clean Title, no accidents.
• Ready to drive across the country -- The suspension work means everything is Autobahn tight
• AC works
• All electrical works, windows too
• Has original toolset and owner's manual (and cassette tapes!)
• Rare M-sport spoiler imported from Germany
• I have many spares and the original suspension if you want it

The Bad:
• While very clean and mechanically sound, this 28yr old car has some cosmetic flaws; the leather is thin, but not ripped. The clear coat could be better, couple of dings and rock chips

Just rated one of the best collector's cars under $15k by Hagerty

Thanks for looking. Will only trade for Landcruisers, Sprinter Vans, military, 4x4, Dual Sport Motorcycles, firearms, or cool stuff. Located in Scottsdale. Not interested in people helping me sell the vehicle. We are super bummed to sell it, since I restored it thinking i'd keep it forever, but the proceeds (unless traded) are funding a roadtrip of South America.

Is this on expo because of the mini ARB fridge between the rear seats? Just kidding, love the car and any pre-Bangle BMW.

My vote is 3.0CSL as favorite to look at and E30 M3 or 2002tii as favorite to drive...more fun than my M5 or any other M3.

Condolences man. The Lexus was the "wife's" rig. This though. Man are you sure? Did you bump your head lol? DONT DO IT...... Very clean nice rig. Is there a build on big coupe? I go on big coupe sometimes because I have an e23 and we don't really have a home so we go between big coupe and mye28. This car has all top quality replacement parts and genuine accessories. I say you ask 20 grand not 12. What are you planning to drive on your trip through South America? You had a expo Lexus and sold it.

I see you like the older BMW styles. They are great. I have an 84 745i and a 89,90 e30. I would say my favorite classic is the m535 e28. It was the precursor to the M cars. Good luck with your emotional state the car will sell itself :)

Too bad its not an m6

Or rather the M635CSi which is lighter, nicer bumpers (less bulky than US spec M6), and has a 3:91 LSD diff. Sold mine (Diamond Schwartz metallic black) years ago to a guy in central california and have been trying to buy it back ever since.

This post cracked me up. Yes, I'm sure i'll regret selling it. I'm deciding which Landcruiser 80 to take South; I have a 97 LX450 that is supercharged and ready to go, or a 95 landcruiser that has a 4bt diesel swapped in it. The diesel is totally not ready, but will save $8-10K in fuel costs.

Are you yjeff on mud? I saw that car in a picture of tires being sold in mud. Man you are selling everything! Lol. Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end. I'm going to reply about the tires on mud. You sure you can't sell everything and keep this car? My friend just paid 16 for an L6 so they are holding their value. Do you own the mud website? Is that what the license plate is about?

Is this posted on bigcoupe, and mye28? The users on here (expo) Dolomiti, preacherman and croak may know some people that are interested.

Good eye. Unfortunately my wife and I are unloading some stuff that we don't want to put in storage when we tour South America later this year. The tires from the MUD post have sold. I am not related to the owner of ih8mud, his name is "Woody" on that forum

Thanks for passing the info along to your friends. I should post on bigcoupe, thanks for the idea.

When this car rolled off the line in 1986 I was graduating HS. I would have killed my mom for one. Ironicly now I'm the one who would be killed if I bought it. Might be worth it....

Oh that would be fun, but then I'd have to go and buy a new KTM. I don't see getting this past the CFO.

GLWS. I'm sure their's a forty something out there with some disposable cash looking for this great car.
