Good morning everyone, due to unforseen circumstances I am selling my pride and joy. I purchased this M1088 in hopes of converting it into an expedition vehicle. Over the past year I have gotten it to a point where the habitat is ready to be constructed, but life's taking me in a different direction so hopefully someone can pick up where I left off. Now down to pictures and details.
1998 Stewart and Stevenson M1088
Odometer reads 15,728
Caterpillar 3116 diesel motor
Allison 7 speed automatic transmission
6 wheel drive in "mode" setting
Air brakes in excellent condition
10,000 lbs load capacity (much more since I removed over 3,000 lbs of military fixtures)
Now onto the work I have done so far:
Replaced transmission computer
Installed arduino CTIS computer (programmable and reliable)
Led head lights and tail lights
New batteries with space for tools where the military batteries used to sit.
Engine serviced, differentials and hubs serviced.
5th wheel hitch removed
Aux fan relocated
Hydraulic controls repaired and relocated
Pass through cut and framed, still needs a door
Giant air box removed, tubing rerouted but needs completed before box is installed.
Sub frame built using captive springs.
Designed for a 20' long box and still gives a 42 degree departure angle.
Now the things I would still need to do if I were to keep it:
Register as an RV
Replace the tires. All seem good and I have driven many miles on them but I don't trust 13 year old tires.
Finish subframe.....
I'm asking $22,000 for this as is OBO. Text or call is preferred 442-217-6139
Thanks
Steven
